Puppy Neutrality Classes in Teesside & North Yorkshire
Give your puppy the foundations they need to navigate the world with confidence. Our four-week Puppy Neutrality Classes focuses on building engagement, developing essential life skills and teaching your puppy to remain calm around everyday distractions.
Puppy Socialisation Isn't About Meeting Every Dog
One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding puppy socialisation is that puppies need to greet every dog and person that they encounter.
At Canine Connections Teesside, we believe that there is a better way.
Our Puppy Neutrality Classes focus on teaching puppies that other dogs, people and everyday distractions are simply part of the environment - not something that they need to interact with every time.
Rather than encouraging overexcitement or constant interaction, we help puppies develop the confidence to observe their surroundings calmly, remain engaged with their owners and make better choices.
Our goal isn't to create a puppy that loves every dog. It's to create a puppy that can confidently exist around them!

Why Choose Canine Connections Teesside?
Not all puppy classes take the same approach.
At Canine Connections Teesside, we specialise in understanding canine behaviour, with a particular focus on reactivity.
Our experience working with reactive dogs has shown us how important early foundations can be.
That's why our Puppy Neutrality Classes go beyond basic obedience. We focus on teaching owners how to understand their puppy's behaviour, recognise early signs of discomfort or overexcitement and develop the skills to support their dog throughout adolescence and into adulthood.
Small groups of no more than 8 puppies
Behaviour-focused training, not just obedience
Real-life training with a supervised public session
Owner-led learning and practical guidance
Welfare-led, individualised training
Who Are Our Puppy Neutrality Classes Suitable For?
Our Puppy Neutrality Classes are ideal for owners who want to give their puppy the best possible start in life.
Whether you're welcoming your first puppy or adding another dog to your family, our classes help you build a strong relationship and develop the skills needed for everyday situations.
These classes are particularly beneficial for puppies who are easily distracted, become overexcited around other dogs or need support building confidence in new environments.
We also welcome owners who simply want to take a proactive approach to training, rather than waiting for unwanted behaviours to develop.
Puppies displaying significant fear, distress or reactive behaviour may benefit from an individual assessment before joining a group class.
